Are United States Banks Open on July 3rd, 2015?

The July 4th, Independence Day holiday, is just around the corner. Millions of Americans are ready to take their vacation and enjoy some fun in the sun. This year, July 4th falls on a Saturday which means almost all employees of major corporations will get off Friday, July 3rd, 2015 as a holiday. It is important to note that this is also a bank holiday. If you are looking to deposit a check or get money from your bank account you will not be able to do so as banks will be closed.

With the proliferation of smartphone app use many banks and lenders offer apps that allow you to deposit a check with a picture of your check. Even if you deposit your check with an app do not expect it to go through until Monday, July 6th.

If you are looking for mortgage rate or stock prices that are updated do not expect to see them on Friday, July 3rd, 2015. With banks being closed, financial markets will be closed as well. CNBC and other financial news channels will likely have marathons of American Greed or Shark Tank. If you want up to the second mortgage rate updates use our Current Mortgage Rates page.

Try to avoid the crazy Los Angeles traffic and have a fantastic long July 4th weekend. If you are traveling for the holiday enjoy a safe trip.
